Press seeds into the soil, cover lightly, and keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which typically occurs in 7-10 days. If plants become leggy, they can be "potted up" with the stem buried to promote a stronger structure.

Once the risk of frost has passed, transplant tomatillos outdoors in a sunny location, spacing plants 24-36 inches (60-90 cm) apart for optimal growth. To ensure fruit set, plant at least two tomatillo plants.
