Belladonna Delphiniums feature a mix of elegant, airy spires of white, sky-blue, and vivid blue flowers that bring a soft and timeless charm to any garden. Unlike traditional delphiniums, Belladonna Delphiniums have a lighter, more open form, making them perfect for naturalistic gardens, cottage borders, or mixed flower beds. These hardy perennials bloom over an extended period and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. Their striking blooms also make excellent cut flowers, adding beauty to both your garden and indoor arrangements.

  • Start delphinium seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost date, or direct-sow them in the fall. For improved germination, perform cold stratification by placing seeds in a moist paper towel, sealing them in a plastic bag or container, and refrigerating for 1-2 weeks before sowing.

Press seeds into the soil and cover lightly. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which typically occurs in 14-30 days but may take longer in cooler conditions. Once the risk of frost has passed, transplant seedlings to a sunny outdoor location, spacing plants 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) apart.
