  • For best results, start snowdrop anemone seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before your last frost date or sow outdoors in fall for natural cold stratification.

Seeds benefit from a cold period to germinate. Sow on the soil surface and lightly press in, covering very lightly. Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination can be slow and irregular, typically taking 21–40 days, especially without cold stratification.

After the risk of frost has passed, transplant seedlings to a sunny to lightly shaded location, spacing plants 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) apart. Snowdrop anemone prefers well-drained soil and moderate moisture and will establish gradually, flowering in its second year and returning reliably each spring.
