For best results, direct-seed Chinese Houses outdoors in early spring once the soil can be worked, or start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before your last frost date.
Sow seeds on the soil surface and lightly press them in, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which usually occurs in 10–20 days, especially in cooler temperatures.
