Lovage Seeds
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks prior to your last frost date. Can also be direct-seeded in spring or fall.
Cold stratification will improve germination. Place seeds in moist paper towel in plastic bag or container and keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks prior to sowing.
Germination of lovage is generally low - sow 3-5 seeds per pot or cell to 1/4 inch (6 mm) deep. Keep moist until germination in about 10-14 days.
Transplant in a sunny location after risk of frost has passed with plants 24-36 inches (60-90 cm) apart.
Levisticum officinale
Also known as love parsley, sea parsley.
