  • For earlier blooms, start Clarkia seeds indoors about four weeks before your last frost date, or direct-seed outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

    Press seeds lightly into the soil and cover only sparingly. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which typically occurs in 5-10 days, though cooler temperatures may extend this period.

    After the last frost, transplant seedlings into a sunny or part-sun location, spacing plants 6-10 inches (15-25 cm) apart.
